Royal Oak Red
A malty full bodied ale. Malty to the nose with a mild hop aroma. Rich caramel flavor with some fruitiness. Low hop bitterness and a rich red color. 2005 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal Winner.

Suicide Blonde
Don't let this blonde fool you - there might just be a bit of the devil inside! Its soft golden hue is complimented by a deep head of foam. Its sweet malt flavor is firmly supported by the spicy character from the yeast. A tribute to the Strong Golden Ales of Belgium, our Blonde is one of a kind. Spicy and sweetish with hints of cloves and almonds and a low bitterness. It's what you need!
Summer Wit
Nothing says summer like the Belgian Witbier style, and our offering is no exception. Pilsner and Wheat malts are combined with a generous portion of raw (unmalted) wheat to create a soft malt character. Hop additions are kept to a minimum to make way for a unique set of flavors imparted to the beer through generous doses of fresh ground coriander and dried Spanish orange peel. Crisp and refreshing, this beer is served unfiltered in the classic style.

O'Rita's Imperial Irish Amber Ale
To celebrate our 15th Anniversary, we decided to take the Red Ale style and explode it into something even more spectacular. We combined five malts to get just the right amount of soft caramel flavor. For hops, we left the bitterness at the level of an ESB but late-hoppped the batch over and over so it overflowed with hop flavor. Finally, we dosed the finished beer with 8 pounds of Sorachi Ace hops to give it a distinctive, sweetly-citrusy nose. Here's to 15 more years!!!

Holiday Chocolate Stout
Here's a holiday seasonal brew that all our brewers collaborated on. First, Kevin provided a killer one-of-a-kind stout recipe that we all liked. Then, Travis took the lead as we took a serious look at chocolate. Our goal was to bring the flavors of stout and chocolate together in as complimentary a way as possible without one overpowering the other. Tim and Nate brewed up the stout and we infused it with freshly-made chocolate on the way to the taps. What ended up in your glass is something rich and satisfying - a perfect beer to pair with your year end celebrations.

British Invasion Pale Ale
Back in the day when the brewpub craze was just picking up steam, almost all brewerys produced some type of classic Pale Ale. Nowadays, they are a vanishing breed. We love this style, and we make our version now and again to remind ourselves and our customers of "the good old days" when small brewerys were just getting started again in the U.S.A. Our brew is made with 100% British malts - Maris Otter pale malt and a light dose of caramel malt for that toffeish sweetness. Northdown and Challenger hops add a nice balance of bitterness and even more English character. Who's got the Britneys, then?

Sunshower Maibock
Every year, once spring has come and the weather begins to warm up, we turn out a batch of this traditional German Lager. Rich and malty, with a delicate kiss of German noble hops for balance, this feastive brew is sure to put you in the mood for getting you back into the warm weather swing of things. PROST!!!
Das Britannia Export Ale
In Germany, there are Export Lager styles like Dortmunder that are light in color but brewed with more malt and hops. In Britain and the U.S.A., there are IPAs that follow the same philosophy. We took the best of both of these and created Das Britannia, a brew featuring a lovely, rich German malt bill and an abundance of German and U.S. hop. We fermented this one with a very traditional British ale yeast to give it that "English" flavor note found in so many great ales.

Oktoberfest
One of the world's greatest and most famous styles of beer is certainly Oktoberfest, a German lager brewed for consumption during Bavaria's annual festival which shares its name. Our Oktoberfest is without a doubt our most popular specialty brew. A rich, clean flavor profile is at the heart of this beer. It is amber in color with a thick, long lasting head of foam. The finest German Vienna, Munich and Pilsner malts combine to create a complex but unmistakably smooth malt character. Noble hops impart a pleasant bitterness, but this lager is certainly malt dominated. Don't miss this beer - it shows up once each year as the third week in September ends and never lasts more than two weeks. Prost!
7 And 7 Is Imperial IPA
Every year we enjoy coming up with a special beer for our September Anniversary Party. In 2009, we have taken India Pale Ale to somewhere far on the outskirts of the style. The malt profile has been increased by a more generous addition of high-quality color malts which add a richness of flavor. The finest American Magnum, Simcoe and Centennial hops burst out of this beer from every angle. The intense hop aroma comes from a overly-generous addition of dry hops after fermentation. This beer is served unfiltered to preserve every last bit of hop character. Happy Anniversary to us! Did we say (and use) hops enough???

Krueger Alt
The German Altbier style is treasured amongst brewers around the world, and we love turning out our take on it now and again. Our Alt is copper in color with a rounded malt character that reflects the large amounts of Pilsner and Munich malts used in our recipe. Subtle creamy sweetness comes from a small dose of two different types of German Caramel malt. Sewveral good doses of classic Hallertau Mittlefruh hops add a firm, spicy bitterness that balances the malt. Sometimes we increase rich, complex flavor as a nod to the "Sticke" or "Secret" Alts of Dusseldorf's brewpubs which are specialties made to salute their loyal regulars.
It's Beer Uber Alles!

Irish Coffee Stout
In our unending quest to make new stouts for St. Patrick's Day (as opposed to just trotting out the same - albeit wonderful - Irish Dry Stout each year), we decided in 2010 to try our hand at coffee stout. We produced a luciously robust cream stout and then infused freshly roasted Nicaraguan Maragogype coffee from a local shop into the finished product. This cold steeping produced a roasty, complex beer with a rich, round profile and a smooth hint of coffee.
India Ink Black IPA
One of the new styles of beer making its way onto taps across the USA is the Black IPA style. These brews are, in all reality, simply IPAs produced with a special form of black malt added that turns the brew black but imparts little "dark beer flavor". We decided to use the popularity of this style as an opportunity to see how many pounds of hops we could slam into a different IPA. Summit, Falconer's Flight and Centennial were used in large quantities.
Sprechen Zie Lager
One of our favorite beer styles is the Export Lager. These beers are usually made in Germeny and sold to out-of-country markets around Europe. We decided to make one for our loyal customers who can't seem to get enough lager beer. Four German barley variteties are combined with the spiciness of several additions of German Tettenang hops to produce a smooth, golden lager with a strong hop character. It's beer uber alles!
Michigan Cherry Ale
Sometimes we like to go places we haven't gone before, and this time we went north - to the Traverse City area where we found some Michigan Montmorency Cherry juice! This lovely, tart liquid was added to a standard Belgian-Style Pale Ale to create the perfect warm weather beer. Deep pink in color, this delicate ale goes down easy on a lazy summer day.
Abbey Normal Belgian Pale Ale
The Belgian Pale Ale style is famous the world over. These golden ales are characterized by balancing a sweet, firm malt flavor with the spicy notes so often found in ales fermented with Belgian yeast. For our version, we did just that, but made one big change. No hops were added to this brew until the last few minutes of the boil, when we added a healthy dose of Citra. This late addition lent a soft bitterness to the finished beer, while imparting it with a lovely, sweet orange note.
Snowdrift Winter Ale
Each year in January we release our Winter Ale to help beat back the chill. Brewed loosely in the style of an English Old Ale, this amber beer has a rich sweetness up front which gives way to the distinctive flavor of the finest East Kent Goldings hops in the finish. This beer is the perfect accompaniment to a plate of rich food on a cold winter day. It's enough to cure the deepest post-holiday blues.
McCallum's Irish Stout
First brewed to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the late 1990s, this beer is produced in the style of a classic Irish Dry Stout. Robust yet quaffable, this beer has a jet-black appearance and a pronounced roastiness. Bitterness is medium and comes more from dark malts than from hops. Because of the historical belief that Irish stouts are part of any healthy diet, we say "One word - STRENGTH"!
Stoke City Brown Ale
A rich, smooth brew made from five malts and two hop varieties in the style of a Northern English Brown Ale. Chestnut brown in color, this beer has notes of chocolate and caramel. Brewed to honor the people and ales of Stoke-on-Trent in northwestern England.
90 Shilling Scotch Ale
"The 90 Shilling", as it is known to the ROB Faithful, is one of our most popular seasonals and has come to be associated closely with the winter Holiday season. This festive beer is rich, malty and sweet with a deep copper color. Hop bitterness and flavor are low in keeping with Scottish brewing tradition.
Euphori-Ale Barleywine
In the early days of the ROB, we would gather at the brewery one Sunday morning to celebrate the Barleywine style as we produced our famous Euphori-Ale. Nearly 20 years later, it is the stuff of legend. English pale malt and a single hop variety are combined to produce a rich, distinctive brew. Euphori-Ale still turns up on our rotating Seasonal taps from time to time. Maybe next visit you'll get lucky...
McCallum's Cream Stout
The family of ale known as Stout has many variations, and one of our favorites is known as "Milk Stout" or "Cream Stout". These brews use lactose (sometimes called milk sugar) to lend a lovely round sweetness to the brew, tempering the intense roasty character which is the cornerstone of the Stout style. To some, it's a meal in a glass.
One word - STRENGTH.
Grand Trunk Steam Beer
California Common Beer or Steam Beer style is one of the few truly American beer styles, and is usually produced by using a lager yeast strain at the warmer temperatures which are more suited to ale yeasts. This twist n the brewing process can be traced back to the 1800s in California, a place and time where cold water - let alone refrigeration - was in short supply. This beer is a lovely pale amber color and showcases the distinctive, minty character of Northern Brewer hops.
Regal Beagle Tripel
When beer lovers talk about Belgian Ales, the Tripel style is one that gets a great deal of attention. Brewed using only the finest Belgian Pale Ale malt and a hefty dose of pure Belgian Candi sugar, these sweet, dry, spicy golden-colored ales are legendary in the beer world. Come and knock on our door and get a pint of beer you won't soon forget.
Honey Badger Brown Ale
This is the Honey Badger. We take 7 different malts and blend them with care before adding a healthy dose of sweet Clover honey to the kettle during the boil. The resulting brew is smooth, rich and creamy with just a hint of hops. What is that - a jackal? The Honey Badger.
Comrade Jiri's Czech Pils
Czech Pilsner is one of the world's most popular and influential beer styles. This golden, crisp, firmly-bitter lager has been produced at breweries everywhere. We use the finest Continental European malts and Czech Saaz hops to craft our take on this, one of the Great Lager Beers. You may find yourself with the misfortune of having one after another...
Hoppy Holidays
Each year, as the winter Holiday season arrives, we take our famous American IPA and "explode" it. Not quite a Double IPA, this brew is nonetheless robust and complex. Over 1,000 pounds of barley malt and 40 pounds of hops come together to make one of our most festive offerings.
Solstice Star Winter Lager
As a part of our Holiday Season celebration at the ROB, we release this delicious amber lager on the Winter Solstice. Rich and malty with a firm bitterness from the finest German Hallertau Mittlefruh hops, this smooth, clean brew will compliment any winter gathering.
Count Zaroff's Russian Imperial Stout
Russian Imperial Stout is one of the world's greatest ever beer styles, and we like to knock one out most years in the cold days of the early new year. Made with over 10 varieties of barley and a prodigious quantity of the finest East Kent Goldings hops, our "I Stout" is rich and satisfying. Notes of chocolate, coffee and stonefruit stand tall against the resinous, earthy flavor of the hops. This wonderful ale is sure to beat back the bitterest northern winter chill.
Marzen Madness
One of the world's greatest and most famous styles of beer is certainly Marzen, a German lager brewed since the 1600s. Don't miss this beer. Prost!
Vidal Saison
One of the great under appreciated style categories is the French Farmhouse group which includes Bieres de Garde and Saisons. Saison is the French word for season and this beer is produced in small farmhouses in the Wallonia region of France to be drunk by thirsty farmhands. Crisp, earthy and served unfiltered, this rustic, slightly tart brew is delicious like no other.
Raspberry Wheat
Every so often, especially in the warm weather season, we take our true Bavarian wheat beer made with 50% wheat malt and marry it with a perfect dose of 100% all-natural raspberry juice to create this delicious, refreshing flavor combination.
Margarita Wit
During the gloriously sunny and hot Michigan summer, we always produce a few batches of our legendary Summer Wit. Occasionally, we produce small batches of this brew into which we add fresh-squeezed lime juice, our secret recipe sour mix and a healthy dose of Tripel Sec. What we end up with is the perfect beer to sit down with as you soak up the warmth of the sun.
Old Man Kensey's Bourbon Porter
Our lovely English Porter has been a staple at the ROB since day one. Nowadays, we like to lay a bit of it down in bourbon barrels and give it a nice long soak. The resulting brews are full of wonderful notes - vanilla, leather and that rich hint of sweetness that comes from the bourbon. Served exclusively on our traditional hand pull right at the bar.

King Helles Double Lager
So, there is this HUGE trend in the industry to make “Double” beers – like Double IPAs. These beers are almost always ales, but we like to break new ground so we made a lager this way. King Helles Double Lager is a Double Munich Helles. Helles is a light, crisp lager with a lovely malt character backed by a firm kiss of hop bitterness and flavor. King Helles Double Lager is a very smooth, creamy, drinkable pale colored lager with a firm hop finish. It’s BIER UBER ALLES.
The Green Manalishi Double IPA
Double IPAs have become increasingly popular in the last 5 years or so, and this style of beer is about as American as it gets. Once brewers in the USA got used to making bolder, bigger IPAs (and once the public got used to drinking them), it was inevitable that somebody would take it to the next level, giving birth to the “Imperial” or “Double” IPA style.
So, we took a great American IPA recipe and made it bigger and a lot more bitter. We used over 1,000 pounds of barley malt and over 50 pounds of Centennial and Zythos hops. This is one you'll remember for a long time.
Devil's Blood Black Lager
Black Lager or Schwarzbier as it is known in Germany where it was born can be traced all the way back to 1390 AD. We absolutely love this under-appreciated style and our take on it is smooth and crisp with notes of chocolate and coffee. This is the perfect way to enjoy black beer in the middle of a sweltering Michigan Summer.
Double Cream Porter
Lots of breweries make Double Cream Stouts these days, but we decided to take Porter and give it some of the same kind of love. Brewed to a higher gravity than our usual offering, this ale is fortified with a firm dose of lactose to give it a full, round flavor and a creamy feel.
India Ink DOUBLE XX Black IPA
For our 17th Anniversary Celebration, we took our Black IPA recipe and blew it up into an imperial version. 1,150 pounds of barley malt and 60 pounds of Magnum, Centennial, Zythos and Columbus hops were used to create this masterpiece.
